CROCHET HOLIDAY BASKET by Lili Pintea-Reed

Here is a quick pattern for a nice circular holiday basket. It can be done in different weights of yarns, or even rag strips to make a nice gift holder for holiday treats. You can fill it with scrunchies, bath scrubbies, soaps, and bath salts for a nice holiday gift for an adult, or candy for kids! My son loves his.

Materials: Hand spun yarn scraps worsted weight J crochet hook (or Hook to make the best use of materials)

With yarn double.

Row 1: chain 6 and then join with slip stich to form a ring. Row 2: sc around ring Row 3: 2 single crochet in each Row 4: *1 sc then 2 sc in next stitch* repeat ROw 5: *2 sc then 2 sc in next stitch* repeat Row 6: *3 sc then 2 sc in next stitch* repeat Row 7: *4 sc then 2 sc in next stitich* repeat Row 8: *5 sc then 2 sc in next stitch* repeat Row 9: *6 sc then 2 sc in next stitch* repeat Row 10: *7 sc then 2 sc in next stitch* repeat Row 11: *8 sc then 2 sc in next stitch* repeat Then without increasing crochet around building sides as high as you want. Nifty little gift basket... Add a handle if you like by single crocheting across and then double crocheting back to starting point.

Happy Holidays!!! Lili
