My Personal Commentary....
=====================================
The Avengers - The Animated Series finally did premiere on FOX at 11:30 AM Eastern Time last Saturday, October 30th. Talk about the old TV lineup shuffle!!! The new schedule simply says "11:30 PM Saturdays starting October 30th" Yeah, well thanks for next to nothing! Fox earns a major black eye with their twice delayed appearance - then gives the series a "trial" time slot of 11:30 PM. Cold and cruel. Apparently FOX has more faith in "New Beastmaster Transformers" than Avengers. Proving once again, in my opinion, that newtork executives are major idiots who have no freaking indea what they are doing. And if you disagree with me - ask Peter David. I like the what I've seen so far. Looks like plenty of time went into art, character development, and story development. More at a later date.

How am I doing so far? Pass the candy, I need more to finish this column on time!
=====================
Some one asked me which comics I read. Actually. I lied. nobody asked, but I'll give you my take on a few recent comics I've read anyway.
Spider-Girl - This is the only new comic I buy regularly. That's saying something since my $1.00 comic I bought new years ago I can't give away for $0.50 and I swore I would never buy new comics again! I do not know Tom DeFalco personally, but I enjoy his stories - especially with Paul Ryan. I thought they clicked on their Fantastic Four run, and they are in top form again here. This is a story a high schooler can relate to! So what does that say about me? Sheesh!
The LAW - Okay I lied again. I buy this one regularly too. Pass me more candy! I am intrigued by Layton and Giordano attempting to ressurect some old Charlton characters like Sargent Steel and Judomaster. Also I really like the DC characters Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, and The Question. I think they are the most underutilized and underappreciated characters in the DC universe. Plus Layton and Giodano are two of the top storytellers in the industry. If the story's the thing, check this one out.
The Brave and the Bold - A six issue miniseries featuring the silver age Flash and Green Lantern. Excellent story by Mark Waid and art in the style of the 50's and 60's - with modern color gloss. Very cool and imaginative. Again, the story is the thing for me. Nice blend of new and old that works for me.
Black Panther - Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. I can't stop thinking about the "pants" gag in Black Panther #2 from Marvel Knights. It is so funny! I've only read issues 2,3,4,and 5, but they are striking. The art style is very realistic, almost as if it were an oil painting. The story is tightly woven, has great depth, and works even though it's told in flashback form. Quite and accomplishment.
Some comics I expected better from....
The relaunch of Spider-Man books. Cheesy, cartoony art. unimaginative stories. A real yawner, in my opinion.
The new Spider-Woman - initially showed great potential. Too booged down in trivia and the "run around town" syndrome? How about a little charater developmnent here - one with pathos and reality! More cheesy, cartoony art. Could we just chuck this "style for ten year olds" - Please!
Superman books - the art is getting bigger, the stories are getting smaller, and any semblance of intelligence has left the building with Elvis.
I'd like to list some real "bombs", but I haven't bought any lately. In this case, no news is good news from me.

Here's the obligitory new release, just in case you are still keeping score on the Marvel Bankruptcy. What? Can't take the bankruptcy stroies anymore? Have some leftover candy - and relax. It's good for you!
